JOM wins media budget for Sweden’s largest sports retailer Stadium

After winning the budget for the Swedish lifestyle store Clas Ohlson, the independent media and digital agency JOM now has another market leader from Scandinavia as a new client under its belt:
since June, the Hamburg-based company has been handed responsibility for the German media budget of Swedish sports article manufacturer and retailer Stadium. The contract was awarded after submission of a pitch.
JOM will be tasked with further raising awareness of the trade company and its sports articles in the Hamburg city region. A tailor-made package will be used consisting of classic and digital media and measures that will “drive forward” both the brand and performance.
The family-run company Stadium, which was founded in 1987, opened its first German store in July 2014 as a flagship store in the Mönckebergstrasse in the centre of Hamburg. In the meantime, the company now successfully runs two other branches in the port city, in Altona and the Phoenix shopping centre in Harburg. The fixed-location offer is supplemented by an online shop. Overall, the company operates over 150 stores, mainly in Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
“With our expansion into Germany in 2014, we have pursued exactly the right path, which to a certain extent is reflected in the launch of our third Stadium store in Hamburg. Now we want to take the next steps and establish ourselves firmly on the German market as a provider of sports articles and clothing. With JOM, we have found a specialist in regional marketing who will help us achieve this goal in the future,” explains Johan Sandgren, Country Manager Germany.

In the words of JOM Managing Director Michael Jäschke: “We are happy that we succeeded in persuading the Stadium team of our expertise in regional trade communication and media planning, as well as our individual consultation style. We are also honoured to have been entrusted with the media budget of a second Swedish trade company within just a short space of time.”
